Each month the coaching staff at EHP selects a member that is “Better Than Yesterday!” The selected recipient is a great example of EHP’s CREDO—demonstrating compassion, honesty, resilience, perseverance, and tenacity. Suzann Everson was selected as October’s “Better Than Yesterday” recipient.
Why did you start CrossFit?
I have always enjoyed physical activity, playing sports, weightlifting, training and being part of a gym for over 30 years now. WOW time flies! It was only 4 years ago that Crossfit was presented to me as a gym was opening nearby. After a trial period I was hooked and have enjoyed the training methods, WODS, events, challenges, and community of CrossFit athletes.
Why do you continue CrossFit?
I continue CrossFit to stay physically active, improve techniques of each movement, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and to be around sincere athletes who care for one another. I feel CrossFit is like no other workout one can get at a general gym. The structure, motivation, drive, care and skills achieved are worth showing up to class.
What has been your greatest achievement since starting EHP?
Definitely my mobility, thank you Lizette and coaching staff!!! When I first began my squat and shoulder mobility was very limited. With training methods (techniques), PT sessions, professional knowledge provided and continuing practice I feel a great improvement today!
How has your life changed since joining EHP?
EHP has increased my physical strength, endurance, drive to try harder and further knowledge of both nutrition and anatomy. The plethora of knowledge, skills and care is so very rewarding! Thank you Dr Karla and Dr. Lizette for ALL you do!! Thank you to the coaching staff for your detailed training techniques, demonstrating proper methods, patience, caring for all athletes and assisting in all skill levels.
Anything else you would like to share about yourself, fitness journey and/or EHP.
I HIGHLY SUGGEST JOINING EHP!! It’s not just a gym. The Sports Medicine opportunities are such a key part of a healthier lifestyle, positive mindset and physical goals.
