Each month the coaching staff at EHP selects a member that is “Better Than Yesterday!” The selected recipient is a great example of EHP’s CREDO—demonstrating compassion, honesty, resilience, perseverance, and tenacity. Cathy Tisi was selected as June’s “Better Than Yesterday” recipient.
Why did you start CrossFit?
I’ve been into fitness probably my entire life but after college I had a hard time sticking to the same old routine of going to the gym and doing the same thing day to day. I wanted a change and CrossFit always intrigued me, so I convinced my now fiancé Jesse to do it with me and the rest is history.
Why do you continue CrossFit?
I’ve never really gotten sick of it, I’m always looking forward to going to a wod even if there’s biking and wallballs involved 🥴
What has been your greatest achievement since starting EHP?
Probably becoming a better Olympic lifter. I really struggled with my technique and I’m probably always going to keep working on it but I’ve hit weights that were very daunting for me, and it’s been pretty cool to see the progression.
How has your life changed since joining EHP?
I would say I’ve become more confident in myself. I’ve had a lot of self-doubt in and out of the gym, but I’ve been able to accomplish so much by putting forth effort into the things I want to get better at and that’s truly because of the wonderful coaching and the community that is always so motivating and encouraging.
Anything else you would like to share about yourself, fitness journey and/or EHP:
Everyone at EHP is so welcoming, from the members to the coaching staff. It really made the transition from our old gym seamless. I’m grateful to be part of a community that is so accepting and welcoming of everyone.
